Switching guide

Switching from Square Loyalty

Currently on: Square Loyalty · $45/month per location

Square Loyalty is $45/month per location and only works if you run Square POS. People leave when they change point of sale, open a second site, or decide the accuracy is not worth the lock-in.

Short answer

Bioflow runs from a phone with no POS, no hardware and no per-location fee, at $10/month flat. What you give up is real: Square ties rewards to the actual transaction, so spend-based rules are enforced by the system. On Bioflow those depend on staff applying them correctly.

What moves, and how

Nothing is imported automatically

Bioflow has no CSV import, no scraper and no bulk link creation. Everything below is manual. For a typical bio page that is about ten minutes of typing.

Customer point balances

Preserved manually. Members re-enrol by QR and you set each balance to match. Square's points are spend-derived, so decide how they convert to stamps before you start.

Your program rules

Rebuilt — and usually simplified, since stamps count visits rather than spend.

What you give up

Listed because a switching guide that only sells the upside is how people end up back where they started, annoyed.

  • Transaction-level accuracy. Square knows what was bought; a QR scan only knows someone was there. A rule like "one stamp per $200 spent" becomes a staff instruction rather than a system rule.
  • Refund clawback. Square can withdraw a reward when an order is refunded. Bioflow cannot.
  • Automatic enrolment at checkout. On Bioflow, joining is a deliberate scan.

The move, step by step

  1. 1

    Decide your conversion

Square points are spend-based, Bioflow stamps are visit-based. Work out what an old balance is worth in stamps before you migrate anyone.

  2. 2

    Export your Square customer list

While you still have Square access.

  3. 3

    Create your Bioflow program

Pick a visit goal that matches how often your regulars actually come.

  4. 4

Enrol and adjust as customers visit

One scan to join, one adjustment to carry the balance.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to keep Square POS?

Not for loyalty. Bioflow's program runs entirely from a phone, so it survives a change of point of sale — which is often the reason people are reading this page.

Is Bioflow's loyalty as accurate as Square's?

No, and this is worth being clear about. Square attaches the reward to a real transaction. Bioflow records a visit, so any spend-based rule relies on staff. For a café with similar tickets this rarely matters; for a wide basket range it does.

How much do I save?

$45/month per location becomes $10/month flat. For three sites that is $135 against $10 — though compare capability, not just price.

Loyalty that survives a POS change
