How to add a link to your Facebook Page

A Facebook Page gives you a website field and a call-to-action button. The button gets tapped far more than the field, and most businesses leave it on the default.

What this platform actually allows

A Facebook Page has one website field plus one configurable action button. A personal profile has a website field in the About section.

Step by step

  1. 1

Open your Page and go to Settings

From Page settings, find Page info.

  2. 2

Add your URL to the Website field

Point it at your link page if you have more than one destination.

  3. 3

    Configure the action button

Book now, Shop now, Send message, Learn more. This is the highest-traffic element on the Page and the default is rarely the right choice.

  4. 4

Match the button to the business

A salon wants Book now, a shop wants Shop now. Sending everyone to Learn more wastes the most valuable placement you have.

  5. 5

    Save and check on mobile

The button renders differently on mobile, which is where most of the traffic is.

Platform interfaces change without notice. If a menu name here does not match what you see, the platform moved it — the sequence is usually still the same.

When you do not need a link in bio here

If your action button already points at the one thing you want — a booking system, say — you do not need a link page for Facebook. It helps when the button can only cover one action and you have three.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the link go on a Facebook Page?

Page settings, then Page info, then the Website field. Set the action button separately — it is a different setting and it gets more taps.

Which matters more, the website field or the button?

The button, by a long way. It is visually prominent and above the fold on mobile; the website field is buried in About.

Can I add multiple links to a Facebook Page?

One website field and one action button. If you need more destinations, point them at a page that holds all of them.

Is it free?

Bioflow's free plan covers it, with no credit card.
